Placed in an entrance hall or on a bookshelf, a reed diffuser creates a subtle fragrant presence that welcomes you every time you return home. It is the most constant form of home fragrance, gradually becoming the signature scent of a place.

The benefits of a reed diffuser

Subtle and constant, the reed diffuser offers a level of convenience that few other home fragrances can match.

• Continuous fragrance without having to think about it: once set up, it diffuses day and night, with nothing to light or programme.
• No flame or electricity: it can be placed anywhere, including where a candle cannot safely remain lit unattended, and it works in complete silence.
• Adjustable intensity: use a few reeds for a light fragrance in a bedroom, or add more to fill a living room.
• Gentle, consistent diffusion: the fragrance gradually fills the room without a sudden peak in intensity and becomes the signature scent of the space.
• A refillable object: once the bottle is empty, a fragrance refill brings it back to life, either with the same scent or a new one.

How does a reed diffuser work?

The principle is very simple. Placed inside the bottle, the plant-based reeds absorb the fragrance through capillary action. The fragrance travels up the reeds before slowly evaporating into the air, without a flame or electricity.

To control the fragrance intensity, adjust the number of reeds according to your preferences:

• For a light fragrance, 2 or 3 reeds may be enough
• For medium intensity, start with 4, 5 or 6 reeds
• For a stronger fragrance and/or a larger room, use between 7 and 10 reeds.

These values are indicative and should be adjusted according to the type of reeds used. The thicker or longer they are, the fewer you may need. The best approach is to try several quantities at first and then adjust the number over time.

How to choose a reed diffuser

Three questions are enough to find the diffuser that suits you: where to place it, what atmosphere you want to create and what role it should play in your interior design.

According to the size of the room

The 200 ml format is suitable for medium-sized rooms, bedrooms or as a first introduction to our fragrances. For an open-plan living room or entertaining space, choose a larger capacity or place two diffusers with the same fragrance in the room. You can also choose one of our 500 ml models.

According to the atmosphere you want to create

Radiant Orange Blossom, fresh Mint & Tea, rounded Sous le Figuier, spicy Place des Épices or deep Oud Santal: every fragrance creates a journey. Think about the moment you want to create rather than the room itself. A citrus note brightens an entrance hall in the morning, while woody or musky notes envelop a living room in the evening.

According to your interior style

Setting up and caring for your reed diffuser

• Placement: position it in an area where people regularly pass, away from direct sunlight and heat sources that accelerate evaporation.
• Reviving the fragrance: turn the reeds over once a week to restart the diffusion.
• Replacement: replace the reeds when they become saturated or when changing fragrances, as they retain traces of the previous scent.
• Precautions: place the bottle on a stable, protected surface, as the fragrance may stain wood or varnished surfaces.
