Home fragrance, an invisible signature for your home
Some homes can be recognised with your eyes closed. A hint of orange blossom in the entrance hall, a breath of fig in the living room, a soft musk waiting in the bedroom. Home fragrance is that invisible signature: it welcomes, it soothes and it tells the story of those who live there.
At Côté Bougie, every home fragrance takes the form of an object. A handcrafted ceramic bottle, a woven raffia covering or a more classic design: the vessel decorates the room while the fragrance fills it.
Reed diffuser, room spray or fragrance oil: which home fragrance should you choose?
The reed diffuser, a continuous presence
The reeds absorb the fragrance through capillary action and gently release it into the air, without a flame or electricity. It is the everyday home fragrance, ideal for a living room, entrance hall or office. To revive the diffusion, turn the reeds over once a week. To adjust its intensity, add or remove reeds according to the size of the room.
The room spray, an instant gesture
Two or three sprays are enough to transform a room before your guests arrive or when you wake up. A room spray should be sprayed into the air, never directly onto textiles. Its 100 ml format can be used anywhere, from the entrance hall to the bathroom.
Fragrance oil and the oil burner, a ritual
A few drops of fragrance oil placed in the dish of an oil burner, with a tealight lit beneath it: the warmth reveals the fragrance and creates an intimate atmosphere. It is the perfect format for evenings and should never be left unattended.
Refills, to continue the story
Is your diffuser empty? A fragrance refill brings it back to life, while the ceramic or raffia bottle remains in place. If you change fragrances, remember to replace the reeds, as they retain traces of the previous scent.
Neutralise unpleasant odours with a home fragrance
A spiced dinner, a room that has remained closed or lingering humidity in the bathroom: some odours settle in more quickly than we would like. Combined with a few simple steps, a home fragrance replaces them with an atmosphere of your choosing.
- Cooking odours: air the room for a few minutes, then use a room spray with citrus notes, such as Mandarine Majorelle. The citrus notes clear away the memory of cooking without making the atmosphere feel heavy.
- Entrance hall and dressing room: a reed diffuser continuously maintains a subtle freshness in these often enclosed spaces.

The best approach is always to air the room first and add fragrance afterwards. The fragrance can then fully express itself without competing with the odour it is meant to replace. This dialogue between two forms of expertise creates citrus, floral, woody and oriental fragrances, designed to linger in the room without ever becoming overpowering. Pairing your home fragrance with a scented candle
Most of our fragrances are available in several formats. You can therefore create a consistent olfactory signature: a reed diffuser for a continuous presence, a scented candle for the light of the evening and a room spray to revive the atmosphere in a single gesture. How long does a reed diffuser last?
Its lifespan depends on the number of reeds, the size of the room and the ambient temperature. Adjust it according to the room and your preferences!
How can you revive a diffuser whose fragrance has faded?
Turn the reeds over to expose their fragrance-soaked ends. If they remain saturated or have changed colour, replace them. There is no need to change them every week: the best approach is to act according to what you observe—or rather, what you smell!
Can our diffusers be refilled?
Yes, absolutely. Our fragrance refills allow you to keep your bottle and change scents with the seasons.
What precautions should you take around children or pets?
Keep diffusers out of reach, air the room regularly and avoid using room sprays close to babies or animals.
