The collaboration between Côté Bougie Marrakech and designer Fanny Lopez
At Côté Bougie Marrakecheach collection is the result of an encounter between craftsmanship, design and Moroccan inspiration. For over twenty years, our company has been exploring new forms to enhance the scented candle and transform it into a genuine decorative object.
With the BABcollection, we wanted to take things a step further by imagining a room where architecture and fragrance meet. To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with designer and architect Fanny Lopezwhose work explores the relationship between space, material and object.
The result is a singular collection, in which the candle becomes a sculptural form inspired by Moroccan architecture.
Inspiration from the gates of Marrakech
The word BAB means door in Arabic.
In Morocco, doors occupy a special place in architecture. In medinas and imperial cities, they mark passages, thresholds and transitions between different worlds. Whether monumental or discreet, they are often decorated with reliefs, motifs and details that tell the story of a place.
The collection BAB collection is inspired by these iconic architectural elements.
The vertical relief and structure of the container subtly evoke the majestic gates of Marrakechtheir volumes and graphic lines.
The candle becomes a contemporary interpretation of Moroccan architecture, transformed into a decorative object.
Design meets craftsmanship
The collaboration with Fanny Lopez was born of a shared desire to create an object that was contemporary, decorative and deeply rooted in Moroccan craftsmanship.
After the creation and design phase, each piece is crafted by the artisans who work with Côté Bougie Marrakech. The workmanship of the materials, the reliefs and the finishes give each candle a unique character.
This dialogue between design and craftsmanship is at the heart of our approach: to create objects with a strong identity, while promoting Moroccan know-how.
Three sizes for a sculptural presence
The BAB collection comes in three sizes, allowing you to play with volumes and create truly decorative compositions.
All three formats can be used:
- alone, as a centerpiece on a table or console
- combined to create a play of heights and volumes
- integrated into a decor combining design objects and handcrafted pieces

Thanks to their architectural lines, BAB candles naturally find their place in contemporary interiors, while adding a warm, hand-crafted touch.
Three colors, three signature fragrances
Each candle in the BAB collection has its own visual and olfactory identity.
BAB Rose, Fig
The pink version is associated with the fragrance Figuier, a soft, vegetal scent that evokes sun-drenched Mediterranean gardens. Its green, slightly milky notes bring a sensation of elegant, natural freshness.
BAB Miel, Koutoubia
The honey-colored candle is scented with Koutoubia, an olfactory signature inspired by the atmosphere of Marrakech. A warm, enveloping scent that evokes spices, woods and the warmth of Moroccan evenings…
BAB White, Oriental
The white version reveals the fragrance Oriental a deep, sensual fragrance with amber and spicy notes. An elegant fragrance that brings a warm, sophisticated atmosphere to the home.
A candle designed as a decorative object
More than just a scented candle, the BAB collection has been designed as a decorative object in its own right.
Its reliefs, proportions and colors allow it to interact with different decorative worlds:
